Sunrise at Hamilton Beach, Lake Ontario

Lake Ontario is part of the five Great Lakes in North America. With the true origination of the name ‘Ontario’ meaning ‘sparkling’ or some reporting it as ‘beautiful lake’ derived from the Iroquois, it is easy to see how this name came about. The photoset captured at sunrise on Hamilton Beach at the end of the summer, is a photographic display of the definition of Ontario. The reflections of the sun spread across the majority of the lake creating a breathtaking morning view.

Lake Ontario attracts a number of natural food sources for animals and birds, so the area often is populated with swans, geese and seagulls. The lake is also home to various salmon and trout making this is haven for birds of prey. I was fortunate at the time to have captured some of these birds as they looked rather curious at my presence in the area. It was a beautiful way to start the morning and a perfect way to end the summer season.
